The Balanced Life Project invited young adults to explore one of the 4 Pillars of the Balanced Life by entering our essay competition. The essay was to be based on one of the below four questions, whereby each question corresponds to one of the four pillars of The Balanced Life: purpose, relationships, healthy habits, and impact. For more information on the 4 Pillars, click here .
  • “My life has changed since the coronavirus pandemic and will never be the same again.” Is this true, and if so, what purpose do you now see to your life, and how will your life change?
  • How has the coronavirus pandemic allowed you to develop new or existing relationships?
  • How has self-isolation during the coronavirus pandemic helped you to develop healthy habits?
  • “The world has changed since the coronavirus pandemic and will never be the same again.” Is this true, and if so, what is the impact, and how can we ensure that the change is of lasting benefit to you and to the planet?
The judging panel was chaired by Tim Livesey, long-term member of the Lay Community of St Benedict, with Timothy Radcliffe, leading theologian, writer preacher and communicator with the young, and Kate Banks, teacher, theologian and writer.
