Out of the Lay Community of St Benedict has grown a residential Benedictine project: the Elm Grove Community, based in the city of Brighton. Four young adult members hold the vision to create a sanctuary of peace and prayer, reaching out to share the healing presence of Christ with others in their local community.
The Elm Grove Community seeks to follow the Gospel, inspired by the way of St Benedict.
Prayer is at the heart of their way of life together, each day involving a rhythm of personal and communal prayer. Out of this common life, rooted in relationship with Christ, the Community shares a mission work: reaching out to young people, those without faith, and the marginalized.
