%231%23.jpg) Here are some of the different ways in which you can be involved in the life of the Lay Community of St. Benedict:
By coming along
The Lay Community of St. Benedict welcomes all who seek a closer walk with God. Newcomers are warmly invited to our small group meetings, service events and retreats.
By being a Friend of the Lay Community
Friends of the Lay Community are people who support the work of the Lay Community of St. Benedict and are interested in exploring St. Benedict's Rule yet do not wish to commit themselves to membership. Friends of the Lay Community will receive regular news from the community, and are invited to join our Prayer Circle, as well as being welcomed at meetings, events and retreats.
For more information about being a Friend of the Lay Community, please e-mail contact@laybenedictines.org .
By becoming a Member of the Lay Community
The Lay Community of St. Benedict has no monastic enclosure and is not led by the clergy. Members follow different paths in life. They may be single and married people, families, teenagers and those with more experience of life. We are scattered throughout Great Britain and abroad, but are connected to one another through a shared commitment to prayer and meeting together regularly.
Our spiritual journey centres on the discovery of God's love for us through a rhythm of prayer, the reading of scripture and the Rule of St. Benedict.
How to join
We welcome anyone who wants to discover with us what it means to live holy communion, create holy space and offer holy service in response to the call of Christ. If you would like to consider becoming a member, please e-mail contact@laybenedictines.org - we will then put one of our Membership Support Team in touch with you. |
